local police. they were on i 44 when the gunman opened fire with what looked like an ak 47. he was just shooting wildly out the window. and with police hot on his tail, he drove more than 30 miles to the university of missouri science and technology. witnesses reported him going into mcnutt hall there and officers locked down the campus. the drama kept on going. trace gallagher with the news live in our west coast news hub. trace, what happened next. well, john, police say he was still carrying that ak 47 while he was walking around that cleaning campus. they had it surrounded but somehow he slipped away. he went to a nearby home where he stole yet another car and, yes, the chase was back on. in all, this chase spans some 40 miles over four hours at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. here s more of the initial video caught on camera. holly cow. can i spell the gun smoke.
