Whitetail Disposal, Inc. was unanimously voted by the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors to be their contracted waste collection service provider.
A trash truck barreled through a stop sign while coming down a hill in Bechtelsville before dawn Monday, then traveling through a yard and crashing into a wooden shed, injuring the driver, Eastern Berks Regional police said.
The crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. at East Main and Franklin streets. Traffic was diverted off East Main Street for about five hours until a crew from Berks-Mont Towing could remove the truck.
Eastern Berks police said the Whitetail Disposal Inc. truck driven by Shaun Campbell, 35, address unavailable, was eastbound on Franklin, police said. The truck didnât stop at the intersection with East Main and continued across that street into a yard before slamming into the shed, demolishing it, police said.
