A manufacturer of electric-vehicle parts intends to open a factory in a former Walgreens distribution center in Flagstaff, bringing more than 100 jobs to the area.
UACJ Automotive Whitehall Industries could bring 120 high-paying jobs to northern Arizona over the next year and 350 within five years, according to Gail Jackson, president and CEO of the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona.
The company, based in Ludington, Michigan, is a leading supplier of precision extruded aluminum automotive components and assemblies. Its products include sunroof guide rails, bumper assemblies and battery housings. UACJ Whitehall is a division of Japanese aluminum giant UACJ Corp., which makes aluminum cans, aviation materials, auto body panels, motorcycle frames and more.
