AHEAD TO BEHIND, AND VICE VERSA
The following extended commentary appeared in the Chicago Tribune way back on July 3, 1878,.
On this date, 150 years ago, the Cubs played the latest regular-season game in their history.
Their final game of 1871 wasn't supposed to have been played on Monday, Oct. 30.
Nor was it supposed.
My season-ending History Watch began with a section titled "Missed Milestones."
One sentenced said:
