“Every little bit helps,” Jeanne Wood, owner of Jeannie’s Diner in downtown Coldwater said.
The business at 44 West Chicago St., was one of a dozen in Branch County that received a $15,000 Michigan Small Business Survival Grant to help them survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
After 15 years at the location, Wood said “we are going to make it” despite being closed five months then cut to 25% capacity by state health department limitations.
The critical relief totaling approximately $52.5 million for nearly 6,000 small businesses across the state was awarded by region. The seven counties served by Southwest Michigan First awarded $4.15 million to 279 businesses.
