Eligible care home residents and staff across the town have all been offered the first dose of the vaccine, Swindon’s public health boss has said. Speaking to reporters yesterday Steve Maddern said jabs have been made available to those willing to be vaccinated. The latest figures published by the NHS show 43,077 people aged 80 or over had been given their injection by January 24 in Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. The figures cover people vaccinated in the BaNES and Wiltshire Integrated Care System area – a collaboration between local NHS services and councils aimed at improving health care. Mr Maddern said: “I’ve received notification on Thursday that all Swindon care homes have now been visited, and those eligible have now been offered the vaccine which is really positive.”
