James Edward Jim Hash, 78, gifted architect of outdoor landscaping creations

James Edward ‘Jim’ Hash SUPPLY James Edward “Jim” Hash, 78, was called home Friday, Feb. 5, 2021. Jim was born May 31, 1942, in Radford, Virginia, the son of the late Volney and Marguerite Evelyne Davis Hash. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Darlene Divine. Jim was proud of his West Virginia heritage and attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia, for three years, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Pi Fraternity. He later completed his degree in Business Administration at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville. Jim served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve as Military Police. From 1969 until his retirement in 1993, he was a postal inspector with the U.S. Postal Service. He then worked as an auditor/investigator with the N.C. Real Estate Commission. Jim’s Christian faith was first and foremost in his life. He was a perfect husband and dedicated father and grandfather. Vera Carlisle SUPPLY Ms. Vera Carlisle, 92, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021. She was born June 20, 1928, in Brunswick County to the late Herman D. and Janie Caison Fulford. She leaves behind her three children, Paula Brown, Dannie L. Carlisle and Ronnie Carlisle. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, at two at Sabbath Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Patricia A Patty Nash, 87, active with Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary

SUPPLY Patricia A. “Patty” Nash, 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at her home. Born Patricia A. Worley July 21, 1933, in Charlotte, she married John D. Nash of Charlotte on Oct. 29, 1953. During their 61-year marriage, Patty and John traveled all over the United States, including stations in Virginia, Hawaii, Florida, Arkansas and Nebraska, before finally settling in Supply in 1979. She loved raising her children, sightseeing, making ceramics and contributing to the local community wherever she lived. Upon making her new home with her husband in Supply, she immediately threw herself into the Brunswick County Home Extension, serving as one of its most energetic boosters as well as its treasurer for many years. Patty was also very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, serving in various leadership positions in VFW Post 8866, where she was a founding member, from 1980 until her death.

Andrew Taft Lewis Jr , 88, served in the Coast Guard during World War II

BOLIVIA Mr. Andrew Taft Lewis Jr., 88, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who served during World War II. Andrew was a hardworking gentleman who loved his family. As a teenager, he worked alongside his father on their farm raising tobacco and vegetables. He later worked at several of the local ports as a longshoreman. He loved cattle and enjoyed raising them on his own farm. Andrew was a member of several organizations throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew T. and Lucy Garner Lewis; wife, Joyce Lewis; daughter, Sylvia Hewett; sister, Gertrude L. Williams; and brother, Elmer Lewis.
