MINNEAPOLIS – A federal judge has sentenced a White Earth man to 17 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor over several months in 2018.
33-year-old Evan Oppegard also admitted to sending sexually explicit messages and soliciting the minor through social media. It happened on the White Earth Reservation.

On Wednesday, May 26 at 9:34 p.m., on the 35000 block of County Road 21, Ogema, White Earth Assembly of God was burglarized by four suspects. A witness said they believed four juveniles broke the church windows and entered the building. Unknown if items are missing. Case is under investigation by the White Earth Police Department. Also, on Tuesday, May 25 at 1:02 a.m., on the 400 block of 4th Street, Audubon, Alexander Paul Robare, 24, an inmate serving a sentence for a felony protection order violation under home confinement, cut his ankle tracking monitor and remains at large. Robare is 6-foot, 1-inch and weighs approximately 190 pounds.

Matthew Silas Dodd was arrested in Becker County after he and another man allegedly took police on a high-speed chase that included an old logging road and snowmobile trails.

According to the Becker County Sheriff s Office, Matthew Silas Dodd, 31, of Ogema, Minn., was arrested Friday, Dec. 18, following a chase with police.
Officers say the pursuit began at 8:24 a.m. Friday when a White Earth Police officer attempted to stop two vehicles traveling together and speeding on 320th Street in West Sugar Bush Township, about 25 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.
