It’s now become a cliche to label 2020 as a year that “accelerated the future,” and in the food service industry, as in other part of the economy, trends that were already manifesting themselves - digital ordering, ghost kitchens, and third-party delivery came to increasingly dominate the way the restaurant industry did business.
Though not as high profile, the roll out of robotics in food service settings also predated the events of the year past and, like other, more visible trends, promises to have lasting impacts on the industry.
