what about in the primary ballots? do they take it out on the sdmumt that has not the incumbent? that has not happened yet as did most of those facing tea party were more conservative challengers than that. now if you re cochran, is it building, like you re starting to get worried. obviously his opponent, senator mcdaniel, is trying to link him to the v.a. scandal because cochran is on the v.a. committee in the senate. so there are attempt to do that. in general, i don t think that succeeds it s this overall theme, and you heard men and women talking to john roberts, that says exactly that. he s done a lot for mississippi. we need to keep him there, bringing the goodies to us. others say, no, he s been there too long, it s time for change, we need a fresh face. and that s what this whole election boils down it. i wonder, too, about the sentiment among republicans that
there s a $40,000 drone. i ll shoot it out of the sky. they re doing research right now to use drones to carry explosives for avalanche control in the mountains. that would be fascinating. when it s so foggy or the weather is so bad you can t send people out for avalanches for highways, for instance genius. you could program it to travel up at noon and drop an explosive for avalanche control. whether or not this can be done safely so they re not going to fall down on people, hit building, lamp poles and whatever else. dreaming big, attaching it to the brand, is this a strong move for bezos? yes. think about what it did for apple. great to meet you. thanks, jason. let us know what you think. what would you use a drone for?
and just. people are in deep, deep fear of getting fired. and so but they re afraid of guys like adam, taking an inch and running a mile. (laughter) sniffles and out of work for two weeks and mailing it in. and we obviously got to do something about that. but it s a real probable fear out there? adam? is it a real fear of losing your yeah, of course. and the sad thing. neil: join in on the show anytime you want, adam. it s okay. i m in california, give me a break. neil: and i m kidding, love you to death. go ahead. the real fear is for people who make money by the hour, and if they get sick, and it s an economic tragedy. employers are doing a disservice having sick people in the office, that s going to get other people sick, obviously. neil: ben stein, what is it like out where you are? is it building into something where, all right, the state officials are saying, all
very special place in america s history when it comes to workers. i saw that today as soon as we got here at the airport. we got in the car, we started driving through, a city that i wanted to know about. and of course we had a cabdriver, cabdrivers are like encyclopedias. they know everything there is to know about their city. and one fact that jumped out at me right there in the cab today was china has purchased land in the city of toledo. is that correct? yeah! so let s start the program understanding one thing. our competitor, china, across the way thinks there s something of value in toledo, ohio, so they purchased it. i guess it it s that free market thing they re doing, you know? but here in america we haven t had anyone step up and say, i want this it building, i want
and i couldn t help but think, okay, what happened in this it building? what did it they used to do here? what did they manufacture? where did those jobs go? why did they lock them out? where did those workers go? it did they leave? are they gone? do they not want to work? what s happening here? and when you see buildings like that here in the rust belt, here in the bread basket of labor in america, here where there are open hearts that want to work and don t want a handout, you have to ask yourself the question what kind of country are we becoming? president obama is trying to do something to put people back to work, but we have this political divide taking place in washington, d.c., that is absolutely amazing. we have one party that says, we re not going to do anything to help this president because we want to defeat him. the president talks to the american people and says, these
