Top of the Mountain: Stowe’s Spruce Peak is a village unto itself
By Linda Laban
Midway up the mountain, specks of light twinkle in the pitch dark. There are a couple of small patches of them, each shimmering like fairy circles of nymphs at play while most humans sleep.
But these are people, busy preparing the trails, grooming the snow on Spruce Peak for another day’s influx of skiers and snowboarders.
