Trailer of Glenfiddich worth £90k pinched by daring booze thieves in Glasgow

THOUSANDS of cases of whisky worth £200,000 have been pinched from the East End. Cops are on the hunt for crooks who nabbed 2,400 crates of Glenfiddich 12 year single malt Scotch from the Clydesmill Industrial Estate, Carmyle, last Friday. The booze was being stored in a red articulated trailer when it was stolen at around 9.15pm. The wagon was later discovered abandoned on Whistleberry Road, Blantyre, at 10am on Tuesday. Detective Sergeant Stephen Greenshields, at Shettleston CID, said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who has seen this trailer since it was stolen on Friday until the empty trailer was recovered in Blantyre on Tuesday.
