Cornbread & Moonshine Festival
Granville kicks off things with the grand opening of the world’s largest decanter museum at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Winners of the tenth annual Cornbread Cook Off will be announced at 10:30 a.m. at the Pioneer Village. A cornbread lunch of pinto beans with ham, turnip greens, apple cobbler, a beverage and cornbread will be served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for $10. A Whiskey Trail Guild event runs noon-4p.m. Also on tap are several Elvis connected-events: an Elvis look-a-like contest at 12:45 p.m.; Elvis trivia contest at 2 p.m.; performances at 1 and 3 p.m. by Elvis tribute artist Wayne Euliss; and an Elvis Presley whiskey decanter auction at 2:45 p.m. There will also be Native-American exhibits and events, music by the Fredonia Bluegrass Band, and the One Way Out Band will offer the Best of the Darlings at the Mayberry Outdoor Dinner Theatre (reservations required).
