The Bock Hog: Harpoon and WhistlePig collaborate on beer finished in whiskey barrels resulting in 9% ABV doppelbock
Updated Dec 14, 2020;
Harpoon Brewery and Whistlepig are up to something again this holiday season.
The coronavirus pandemic couldn’t keep these New England businesses apart as the two collaborated for the second straight year on a holiday beverage: The Bock Hog.
The Spanish Oak and South American Teakwood barrels being used were from the whiskey’s release earlier this year. The result is a brew clocking in at 9% ABV and “layered with complex notes of toasted rye, toffee, rum raisin, and cacao, finished with notes of holiday spice, roasted nuts, vanilla, and char – an exploration of flavors from around the world just in time for the holiday season.”
