Ghaziabad: Two government hospitals in the district will have their own oxygen plants in the next couple of weeks, officials have said.
While Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has decided to install a plant for the District Combined Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility, state health minister Atul Garg has donated Rs 50 lakh to set up a plant and procure oxygen concentrators at MMG District Hospital, a non-Covid facility.
The two plants will together be able to provide continuous oxygen supply to 70-80 beds, officials said.
On Wednesday, a team from BEL visited the District Combined Hospital, a 100-bed L2 facility, to earmark the place for the plant. The chief medical superintendent at the hospital, Dr Sanjay Teotia, said: “The company representatives have assured us that the plant will be up and running in the next 10 days. According to them, the plant will be capable of supplying oxygen to about 30 beds continuously. Once ready, it will reduce our dependence
