Wild campers, an ambulance team and mountain rescuers all came to the aid of a stricken hill walker who had dislocated her hip while putting on her gaiters. Fiona Hill, 55, from Oxford, was enjoying her first trip to the Lake District in 30 years in October with her boyfriend, Andy Davison, when their walk down Hell Ghyll ended prematurely. Fiona said: “We were about three miles from the farm we were staying at when Andy suggested putting our gaiters on, so I bent down and my hip dislocated. “I screamed the place down and immediately fell to the ground. Andy put me in the recovery position and then put the blanket over me, but he couldn’t get a phone signal.”
For Cream Cheese Spread:
Combine cream cheese, Double Gloucester or cheddar, heavy cream, and salt in food processor. Blend until smooth. Set aside.

Lay out artisan bread slices on parchment paper or large cutting board.
Place 2 slices of cheddar on 4 of the bread slices. Place 2 slices of provolone on remaining bread slices.
Equally spoon cream cheese spread on slices with provolone. Gently smooth cream cheese spread over each slice.
Press cheddar side and provolone side together.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, until hot.
Brush both sides of the sandwiches with garlic spread.
