We Need A Little Christmas

We Need A Little Christmas Washington County News BONIFAY - The Holmes County High School Music/Drama Department will present their Christmas Showcase titled “We Need A Little Christmas” on Tuesday December 15 & Friday December 18, beginning at 7:00 at the Holmes County High School Auditorium. Doors will open approximately 45 minutes before each performance.  The evening will be full of Christmas Joy with many of your traditional Christmas songs, updated arrangements of some favorite classics, and new songs that will become favorites. Songs will include We Need A Little Christmas, Carol of the Bells, Can Your Hear the Angels, There’s Still My Joy, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Run Rudolph Run, A Holiday Sing Along, Winter Wonderland, and many more. The evening will also spotlight soloists with songs such as I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Where Are You Christmas, The First Noel, O Holy Night, Sleigh Ride and more.

Believe it or not, it s been twenty years since the live action How the Grinch Stole Christmas film premiered in 2000. To celebrate, Taylor Momsen, who portrayed young Cindy Lou Who in the movie, recently reminisced about her time playing the iconic Dr. Seuss character alongside Jim Carrey s Grinch. On Friday (December 11), The Pretty Reckless lead singer spoke with The Today Show to reminisce about filming the iconic Christmas film. Momsen was just seven years old when she joined the cast. “[Carrey] is incomparable, she gushed. I remember him being so kind, so concerned, but so methodical with what he was doing. Even at that young of an age, I remember watching him and going, I m watching an artist right now at work. ”

Taylor Momsen has fond memories of bringing a Christmas classic to life. The actress was 7 years old when she starred as Cindy Lou Who in 2000’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The now-27-year-old said it’s easy to understand why people still love the movie decades later. “I think that people love ‘The Grinch’ just simply because the core of the story is so sweet and it’s so heartwarming and it has such a good message,” the singer/actress recently told “Today.”  “The fact that it comes back around every year – I think it’s something to look forward to,” Momsen shared. “And I think it just kinda brings happiness and joy to anyone who watches it.”
