The BMW was purchased by Mike for just shy of £5,000 before it underwent an extensive restoration.
The car was fitted with a new fuel pump and hoses as well as a new battery and a brake system.
The engine was given a full service with new spark plugs and fluids also installed on the model.
After all the work had been completed, the model was sold for £23,415 which generated profits of over £9,000 once restoration costs had been taken into account.

The model has completed just over 94,000 miles despite being over 40 years old and six former owners.
The car will be sold with its fabulous history file which includes two service books with 18 stamps.

The previous owner held the model for 30 years with the model having been dry stored for the past seven years.
Classic Car Auctions said the model has been recently recommissioned and could sell for between £12,000 and 15,000.
