Kutch: Amid the ongoing farmers protests against the new farm laws on the borders of the national capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (December 15, 2020) said that the agriculture reforms are exactly what the farmer bodies and the opposition parties have been asking for years.

PM Modi discusses new reforms in the agriculture sector with farmers in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the opposition for misleading the farmers over the new reforms that are being brought in the agriculture sector. At a time when farmers are agitating against the 3 new farm laws on which the government say that they are for the benefit of farmers, PM Modi said people who are sitting in the opposition and misleading farmers were in the favour of these farm reforms during their government.Â
PM Modi continued and said, they (opposition) could not make a decision during their government. Today when the nation has taken a historical step then these people are misleading farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday unveiled various developmental projects in Gujarat. These projects include a desalination plant, a hybrid renewable energy park, and a fully automated milk processing and packing plant. The Chief Minister of Gujarat was present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said one has to keep up with the changing times and embrace global best practices. He lauded the farmers in Kutch in this regard, as they are now exporting fruits abroad. He said this indicates the innovative zeal of our farmers. He said the agriculture, dairy and fisheries sectors have prospered in Gujarat over the last two decades due to minimum interference from the Government. What Gujarat did was to empower farmers and cooperatives.
