be wrong about certain things and it the first amendment protects speech that even is found to be misleading. and so, again, what greene s attorneys are saying is even those things even if they may have come from her accounts and may have come from her, they weren t encouraging violence at the capitol. that s what greene s attorneys kept stressing during the hearing is that she never directly encouraged violence at the capitol on january 6th. but what the challengers are saying is her posts helped perceive the violence. they helped empower people who, therefore, carried out the violence. so the judge and secretary of state raffensperger are going to have to decide whether the social media posts encouraged, not certified election, despite
elections there. what greene and her allies have attempted to do is prevent it from even getting to that stage by going to a federal judge and declaring it unconstitutional. that worked for madison cawthorn in north carolina. we ll have to see if it will work in georgia. but if this federal judge allows it to go through, it will still be up to the georgia secretary of state to make the final call. you could see it also working its way up the federal court system also after the fact, maybe even the supreme court. just lastly, republican congresswoman liz cheney talked to jake tapper on state of the union regarding former president trump s involvement on january 6th, and she called his behavior unlawful. and that s an important word choice there. what else did she have to say about that? i think what she should read from this language from liz cheney is that the january 6th committee has uncovered a lot of information, much of it which we have not even heard yet. and there could
confidence in the security of georgia s elections. specifically, 4% of them are saying they didn t think the elections are secure and wouldn t vote in future elections. and then, 6% were saying they were unsure whether their votes will be counted so what you have is a very significant chunk of the republican electorate, you know, in georgia that is saying they re not sure whether or not they trust the voting process at all. and i think what greene was expressing concern about is a possibility that trump s threats to lead a republican election boycott if he is not satisfied by the republican party s attention to his 2020 disinformation schemes and involving fraud that happened, then could potentially end up just destroying republican turnout and threatening the potential success of republican candidates in 2022 and 2024. all right. thank you for your reporting on this. we ll check back in with you when it comes to truth
