lack of principle. which raises an interesting point. why is it when a republican moves to the left it s commandable but when a democrat moves to the right like joseph lieberman it s antisocial? either way, snowe is the media s favorite republican. liberal one. she is like arlen specter in a dress. which is kind of hot when you think about it. she is a very classy lady. i wasn t talking about her looks, i was talk about her principles being like arlen specter. but the fact is no one ever talks, dana, they never talk about wouldn t it be great if ted kennedy became more moderate? if you are liberal, you are always heroic. if you re very conservative, you re a nut. dana: starting to feel that a lot lately. because sometimes in d.c., especially like on the cocktail circuit, to get invite to the parties, you re the only conservative that anybody can stand. they invite you to the party. then it s like see how balanced we are? they make a point to the one
a lot of people if they could get a job at exxon they d take it in a second. bob: i ve been paid before by exxon as a consultant so i want to make it clear. i m going to bash them eric: did you ever bob: i just find it different. they may have had a tax break when it was needed in the 90s as they told me the break. why you take as profitable an operation of the oil company is beyond me. andrea: they are going to pass any tax increase to the consumer. if not the consumer it s shareholders. bob: they pass it on to you [ overtalk ] dana: they are going to take the tax credit away from one industry, then they should take them away for all. because if you go to the apple store this weekend and you buy an iphone, guess what? they are making money. as we said yesterday, now apple s profits are, the value of the company is worth more than the country of poland. greg: i have to ask dana: that s true. bob: i know. greg: i have to ask you a serious question. you were
person they have. but let me say this about olympia snowe. i think she has been a great leader. she has been someone that is a reliable person who for maine was a good senator for maine. obviously, they re-elected her so many times. i also think that it s maybe time. i think maine actually a lot of people said oh, no, republicans will lose maine. i don t think it s necessarily true. andrea: they are probably going to do well. dana: you think so? andrea: in 2010, in mid-term election they took over the governorship from a democrat. republicans won. and the house and the senate in maine flipped to republican control. that was a state that barack obama won by i believe 57%. this is looking really good for the republicans. talk to the rnc today and they said we feel good about this. bob: who will the democrats put up? 2010, the turn-out in presidential race would be higher. leaving it aside, the last
