Author: KHOU 11 Staff Updated: 10:14 PM CDT June 22, 2021 WHARTON COUNTY, Texas Deputies released photographs of jewelry found on a girl’s remains along with a description of what she was wearing in hopes someone can identify her. Deputies said at about 10 a.m. Friday, the Wharton County Sheriff s Office received a call about human remains found near County Road 225 near Hungerford, a secluded area in the northeastern part of the county. The sheriff’s office also released a photograph of the character, “Stitch” from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch. The victim was discovered wearing a T-shirt with the word “OHANA” in blue with a photograph of the character “Stitch” directly below the word.

East Bernard bank robber still at large

The hunt for a man who allegedly robbed and threatened to set off a bomb in East Bernard’s Amegy Bank Tuesday continues with the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office teaming with the FBI. Video of the heavily-built man shows him wearing a gray hoodie, dark sweatpants and a purple cap when he entered the bank located in the 800 block of Dill Street (Hwy. 60) around 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13. He demanded money from a bank teller and then said he would place a bomb outside in front of the building and set it off if anyone called law enforcement, according to the WCSO.
