Whanganui Regional Museum s new director is returning to the town she grew up in after gaining extensive experience in museums around New Zealand.
Dr Bronwyn Labrum was born and raised in Whanganui, where she attended Whanganui High School. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in history from Massey University and received her PhD from Victoria University of Wellington in 2000. The Museum s Joint Council has managed a thorough and considered process to make this important appointment and I think we have found an outstanding director in Dr Labrum, Tangaroa said.

As a young child, Henry Chapman used to watch United States Air Force stealth bombers flying over his family home in Kuwait.
As a teenager, he flew as a passenger in a light plane for Whanganui Anzac Day parade flyovers.
Now, freshly graduated from the 14-week recruit training course at Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Base Woodbourne, he is hoping to carve out an air force career alongside like-minded aviation enthusiasts.
Aircraftman Chapman, 20, was born in Britain but spent most of his life in Kuwait, where his father was stationed supporting the Kuwait Land Forces.

Bruce Tonkin last week found out he was the winner of a Whanganui High School rowing team raffle, granting him a $500 four-minute mad dash around Pak nSave Whanganui to grab anything and everything he wanted.
But instead of filling up his own fridge, he decided he wanted to fill up someone else s.
Tonkin approached Family Works Whanganui who jumped at his idea to donate the food to those in need.
