flying every day. specifically for c-17 air crews the hardest three weeks of our lives emotionally and physically. none of that was in the forefront of our mind like maybe america was seeing. what we were seeing was 450 people on each one of our c-17s. we were seeing young families, a lot of little kids, a lot of grateful and hopeful smiles. we i would say i had a unique advantage of being in a position where all we saw was gratefulness and goodness and success in what we were doing. bill: you just described it as three of the most extraordinary weeks of your life. that s a lot. that s heavy, colonel. yeah. i think some of this hasn t quite been captured yet but it is the middle east. 120 degrees outside. physically hot.
