While a near-complete draft version of the plan was put forward in late 2020, there has been ongoing public engagement since. The next phase, running from August to September and relating to topics not consulted on in 2020, includes updated flood hazard mapping, airport zone and airport noise, and port noise management options. This will include wide public communications, drop-in sessions, and contact with landowners potentially affected by the updated flood information. Environmental planning manager Maxine Day said compared to the previous set of flood hazard maps in 2017, there were still about 5000 properties affected – with between 700-800 either coming in or being taken out.
