appeared to admit white house aides signed nondisclosure agreements. we are back with our panel. laura, i want to throw this to you first because in that tweet the president said whacky omarosa already has a fully signed nondisclosure agreement. there has been some question in the past about nondisclosure agreements and whether or not white house staffers were asked to sign them with this president. talk about whether or not they would either be enforceable or constitutional. why is there a difference, laura, if you are working in the white house, more of a public employee versus a private employee when it comes to an nda? the first amendment is the main difference. remember, the government cannot be in a position to try to infringe or silence your first amendment rights. that s what they would be doing if you had a nondisclosure agreement that you could not say anything that was not classified information. there s really an overarching theme here. if it s classified, you don t have
you re in mueller s position you want to speak to everybody and nib and if a person has relevant information you enlist them as a witne witness. but the credibility issues. i ve put on problematic witnesses, worse witnesses by far than omarosa in terms of prior criminal conduct but credibility is another matter. she has motives and incentives going on now. these non-disclosure agreements. omarosa claims she was offered one from $15,000 too stay on but not do anything and stay quiet and the president confirmed in his tweet yesterday that there are these non-disclosure agreements he wrote whacky omarosa has a fully signed non-disclosure agreement. she says she doesn t. bigger picture here is that
attended his wedding, a number of democrats begged him for campaign contributions. i mean if they were who he said he was, why did they have these relationships with him? reporter: in a white house filled with considerable drama and remarkably little loyalty, from a president who promised this you got to pick the best people. you got to pick the right people. reporter: in the last day alone the president has sent at least nine tweets on his former staffer acknowledging, its not presidential to take on a low life like omarosa, but doing it any way declaring whacky omarosa has fully signed nondisclosure agreement. the trump re-election campaign filed legal action against her seeking arbitration for breaking a 2016 confidentiality agreement in her new book unhinged that offers a little bittering yet unverified portrayal of the president and his administration. now as for those confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, there s certainly common in private business but very rare
