Developer revives 2 stalled projects in Ormond Beach
ORMOND BEACH A local developer has taken over and is reviving two residential projects here that went dormant during the Great Recession more than a decade ago.
Construction is now under way on Ormond Grande, a planned community off of the North US 1 Highway that will add 60 new townhouses to the area.
Meanwhile, roughly eight miles to the north, roads are being put in for a planned 188-home community called Wexford Reserve on Old Kings Road. The site is directly across the street from the Acoma West entrance to Halifax Plantation.
Ormond Beach developer Rick Maugeri acquired both land parcels in December. He paid $3.8 million for the yet-to-be developed 80-acre Wexford Reserve at 2196 Old Kings Road and $1.05 million for the roughly 13-acre Ormond Grande property on the east side of US 1, just south of Ormond Lakes, according to Volusia County property records.
