A graduate of Auburn University recently took home the top prize at the new Alabama Wildlife Fine Arts Competition, a part of theĀ annual Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival (WEWA). Jared Knox, the winner of the 'Best in Show' category, graduated from Auburn in 2021 with a degree in mechanical engineering and had only pursued art as a hobby during the vast majority of his time on the Plains.
Artist Jared Knox, a Marietta native, fondly recalls his first trip to Alabama’s Black Belt during a family hunting trip to Lowndes County when he was a teenager.
