Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Bhandari, Rohit Singh, has called upon the public and the leaders to cooperate with the district administration and the town council and play a proactive role in achieving the vision of zero waste generation in Bhandari. Rohit Singh stated this during a waste management awareness-cum-felicitation programme held at Bhandari town hall in Wokha district on July 5. Observing that a clean environment and healthy life are interdependent for a healthy society, Singh said community participation was vital, stated a DIPR report. He also stated that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, systematic waste management, disposal, or recycling of eco-friendly waste generated through daily human activities would be implemented soon. He further cautioned against the use of single-use plastic and encouraged alternative products, which are eco-friendly and less hazardous to health.
