let s turn to meteorologist bill karins now who has been tracking this storm for us. this storm is going to track huge implications for travel and schools and work and a lot of people struggling this morning already. just got a report from the finger lakes region. and power is out because it s a heavy, wet snow. that s western new york. that s all the blue here is the mod t moderate to heavy snow. al ban f albany, new york, 12 inches of snow. further to the south, it s a rain east. and the winds are starting to pick up up for coastal areas and even in the interior. d.c. at 40. earlier you were at 52. so the winds are picking up. they ll peak this morning, mid-atlantic to d.c. winds will be the highest on cape cod and boston as we go
down. i went to school in the finger lakes. my school shut down preemptively. this past january with the massive flooding and everyone still talks about 1991. this could equal that. the flooding is a major problem and the airport delays are going to get knocked down. i was talking to friends in upstate new york. it s a heavy, wet snow. trees and power lines are down, power outages going on. al, thank you very much. we ll be right back.
