Businesses across Fenland affected by the Covid-19 pandemic should check if they can apply for a range of support schemes.
Since the first lockdown last year, Fenland District Council (FDC) has distributed more than £24 million in funding and made over 2,500 payments to businesses.
Over £3 million has been paid to businesses since the December restrictions were enforced, and the council is now urging firms to apply before closing time.
The grant schemes available in Fenland are:
- Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment (CBLP) – a one-off grant payment of either £4,000, £6,000 or £9,000 is available to businesses forced to close in line with national restrictions which came into force on January 5, 2021.

Fenland businesses which have been impacted by local and national Covid-19 restrictions are being reminded to check if theyâre eligible for grant support.
Fenland District Council is administering a range of Government business grant schemes via its website at: www.fenland.gov.uk/businessgrants â and is urging businesses to apply before the closing dates.
Since the first lockdown last year, the council has distributed more than £24million in funding and made over 2,500 payments to businesses, with over £3million being paid out to businesses since the December restrictions came into force.
Pubs which receive most of their income from drink sales can now apply for a new Covid-19 support grant. Under the current Tier 2 restrictions pubs can only open if they serve substantial meals meaning many pubs miss out on income. To help support businesses, the government is providing funding which is being administered locally by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils. The Christmas Support Payment for Wet-Led Pubs is a new one-off grant which provides £1,000 to pubs which receive less than 50 per cent of their income from food sales, including those which serve substantial meals and are currently open.
