trayvon. so you basically hopefully if she heard anything, she would say she did, but the time coincides with george s statements and testimony of time limit and what had happened during that time. explain that. well, because george was on the 911 call while she was on the call with trayvon and the times coincide and i think there was two minutes between when george hung up from his 911 call to the time trayvon and rachel had hung up. so really nothing could have happened because the 911 caller would have heard the nonemergency call that george had called, heard something happening before that. she said at one point that she heard the sound the wet grass. did that seem believable to you? well, everything was wet at that point. it was pouring down rain. it s really fascinating for the first time to hear from an actual juror in this case, no matter what side of this case you are on, what you believe of
issue here. secondly, it was raining out that night. blood when he spread his hands out, think about that, when he spread it out, whatever blood was on there could have been lost in the wet grass. we are talking saturation here. there is other controversy that some say zimmerman got on top of trayvon and he had his handbred spread out. there is controversy some inconsistency his hands were foundp on this body. no controversy. from here, to do away with that. okay. we have a tipping called auto reflex f. i punch you in the gurkts where does your hands go? in that area? i shoot you in the chest, that s an excessive amount of pain. if you listen to the medical examiner, one to three minutes. he didn t get shot in the vocal chord. right. there was enough air in his brain that he can say, he got me. he spread his hands out, he was still alive at that time.
9 mm semiautomatic pistol and the bullet cartridge case. trayvon martin s body, including his clothes, his hands and bullet wounds, as well as the sidewalks and grass surrounding the murder scene. and much more. joining me now, chairman of the science department at the john jay college of criminal justice, forensic scientist, larry kobalinski, larry, you have done this work for years, i think you and i hahave discussed this regarding shows like csi. give us the benefit of your mind on this case. what do you think is the most significant forensics here? well, i think there are different kinds of evidence. the eyewitness testimony, ear witness testimony. but in my mind, it is the physical evidence that provides you with evidence that is
not with any particular agenda. i think the jury will pay very careful attention to what this witness has to say. and that s important because you really want to know what george zimmerman s demeanor was right after he shot trayvon martin. i think all of these witnesses that were just neighbors and lived in the community are very important because as paige said they don t have dog in the fight. they ve given their unbiassed testimony just based on their observations. more of that is supposed to come this afternoon. i do think that that will be important especially because some of them may corroborate what rachel jeantel said that she heard a scuffle on wet grass. she heard some words being said. if any of these witnesses can corroborate the fact that there was this scuffle and that george zimmerman was on top, that s the kind of information that the prosecution is looking for.
at another point in the trial, the defense attorney in this case, don west, tried to poke holes in rachel s description of every on what she heard on her end of the phone during the last call with trayvon martin. let s listen. so the last thing you heard was some kind of noise like something hitting somebody? trayvon got hit. trayvon got hit. you don t know that, do you? no, sir. you don t know that trayvon got hit. he could have. he had to. you don t know that at that moment trayvon didn t take his fist and drive it into george zimmerman s face. please lower your voice. do you? no, sir. lisa, in her testimony she also related that she heard the sound that she ascribed to wet grass. that was one of those moments yesterday when all of the sudden my antenna went up, and that sounds like the sort of thing you pull from a police report or a media report. and again, phone callers to me said you re being too harsh on her. well, there is two different
