The following are excerpts from the Westwood Police logs from April 26-May 3. The logs are public record.
Monday, April 26
2:19 p.m.: A resident of Putting Drive reported fraud. In early March, the resident noticed three transactions from their checking account to a fraudulent Zell account. The transactions totaled $1,993. The resident has frozen their account, and is dealing with the bank.
2:32 p.m.: A resident turned over two very old .22-caliber target pistols to the station for proper disposal.
4:55 p.m.: A resident of Far Reach Road reported that their mailbox, supported on a granite post, had been struck by a vehicle. Damage was estimated at $250. The resident said it may have happened between 1 and 4:45 p.m.; the resident had several deliveries made. Police are seeking video footage of the area from neighbors.

Monday, April 19
12:43 p.m.: One vehicle rear-ended another while in heavy traffic at Route 1 southbound. There was minor damage to both vehicles, and no injuries.
4:42 p.m.: A two-wheel dolly fell off a U-Haul trailer when it struck a pothole at the intersection of Washington and East streets.
5:50 p.m.: A cell phone was found at the base of a tree at Canton Street and Cushing Road. The phone was damaged, which made police believe it had been thrown from a vehicle. The phone was brought to the station for proper disposal.

Monday, April 5
4:42 p.m.: Police were called to a residence on Cherry Street on reports of a possible attempted burglary. An upstairs window appeared disturbed. It turned out that the window had been opened by a house guest the previous day.
6:40 p.m.: Westwood received a be on the lookout from Medfield Police regarding a 2009 green Toyota Camry being driven by someone who may have been intoxicated. At 6:59 p.m., Medfield Police notified Westwood that the subject had been stopped in Medfield.

Monday, March 22
1:59 p.m.: A resident of Oxford Road reported unemployment fraud. They had received a letter from the state s Department of Unemployment Assistance regarding benefits they had not applied for. The resident was advised to place a watch on their financial accounts.
3:08 p.m.: A Yorkie mix was reported wandering around Aran Road. Police picked up the dog, discovered it was chipped, and located the owner, who picked up their pet at 3:51 p.m.
