A pedestrian was taken to hospital with quite serious injuries after being hit by a car. Police cordoned off Broad Street in Leek while the air ambulance landed on Westwood Golf Course shortly after 3pm yesterday.
Police cordoned off a busy town centre road this afternoon.
Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended at an incident on Broad Street, in Leek. It is understood that there was an accident near the junction of Broad Street and Cruso Street.
A police car blocked the road from the mini-roundabout at the junction of Junction Road, Broad Street and Burton Street. The police tape was in place further up Broad Street.
It came as an air ambulance has also landed at Westwood Golf Course this afternoon.
One eye-witness told StokeonTrentLive: The air ambulance has landed. There are medics donning hazmat suits and respirators.
Council requests county permission to establish urban renewal area

To bond for a new golf course clubhouse and other related improvements, the City of Newton needs Jasper Countyâs permission to create an urban renewal area for Westwood Golf Course, which is technically located outside city limits.
