WESTPORT Vincent Penna, who retired from his post as deputy police chief in 2017, died Friday at the age of 51.
A lifelong Westport resident, he was also owner and partner of A.J. Penna & Son Construction. The cause of his death has not been released.
Penna joined the Westport Police Department in 1991 as a traffic agent, according to his obituary. He became a full-time police officer in 1994, serving on the Westport Police Tactical Team. He was a field training officer and firearms instructor, earning promotion to detective in 2001 and sergeant in 2007.
