Between a man sporting a “Camp Auschwitz” sweatshirt and the verbal harassment of an Israeli reporter simply doing his job, the prevalence of antisemitic rhetoric seen during the attack on the Capitol Jan. 6 was shameful and disheartening. But was it surprising? No, not at all.

WESTFIELD, NJ A series of stickers posted on local streets in support of a white supremacist group were removed this week and later condemned by the authorities, who said they are investigating.
Officials with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said investigators are aware of materials found affixed to public property in Westfield advertising a group identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white nationalist group.

So what s with the blood on the doors?
The Torah tells us of the final steps leading up to the liberation of Israel from slavery in ancient Egypt. On that fateful night, G‑d dealt the final blow to the Egyptians by smiting the firstborn of each of their households while sparing the firstborn of the Israelite households precipitating total Egyptian surrender. They [the Israelites] shall take some of its blood [of the Paschal sacrifice] and place it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses.. When I see the blood I shall pass over you; there shall not be a plague of destruction upon you when I strike in the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:7-13).

WESTFIELD, NJ State and local officials took to social media Wednesday as the nation reeled from the news that a mob loyal to President Donald Trump had stormed the Capitol building in Washington in an effort to overturn the election results.
Mayor Shelley Brindle was among the officials who took to Twitter with her thoughts on the events.
“Just heartbroken. Those traitors breaking into the capitol should be considered domestic terrorists and prosecuted as such,” Brindle said. “This is not our America.”
