CONNECTICUT, USA The covid pandemic not canceling the holiday rush this year as people are still flocking to the stores and hopping on flights to get back home for the holidays.
Since the pandemic began Bradley International Airport has remained for the most part -quiet, but things looked different the day before Christmas Eve.
“I m heading back to Kansas City today and then I’m going to Nebraska tomorrow to see my family,” traveler Paul Francis said.

CONNECTICUT It now appears two of the four Connecticut Lord & Taylor stores will last into February before fading into retail history.
That was the case for the landmark Stamford store and the Trumbull location, according to documents filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor.
LeTote, the parent company of Lord & Taylor, filed a new set of declarations this week.

Winter Storm Dumps More Than a Foot of Snow in Parts of CT
The snow blowers were out clearing driveways in East Hartford and across Connecticut on Thursday.
Clean up is beginning across Connecticut after a storm dumped a foot or more of snow in many parts of the state, which led to students learning from home and many workers telecommuting.

The nor easter began dumping heavy snow across the state around 7 p.m. on Wednesday and it fell at a pace of one to two inches per hour overnight. A winter storm warning remained in effect through midday Thursday.

The iconic free-standing store in Stamford essentially the Lord & Taylor mothership was once considered a landmark when it came to department stores.

The announcement to close Lord & Taylor locations was initially made in a notice sent to the state labor department in October. LeTote cited the coronavirus and other adverse business conditions as the cause.
The permanent closure was initially targeted for a two-week period beginning Dec. 1.
On Nov. 30. LeTote officials said that has been extended until a 14-day period beginning Dec. 28.
The reason is favorable inventory levels for the holiday season.
