Susan M. Milstein, a longtime McDaniel College professor of economics and business administration who taught her students through tough love, died Dec. 3.
Eugene A. “Gene” Arbaugh, who went from a Carroll County store clerk to heading the old PHH auto fleet leasing firm, died of respiratory illness Nov. 18 at his Lutherville home. He was 84.

Edward and Robert Hooper were brothers who lived on Main Street in Westminster. They enlisted a year apart and were assigned to different infantry units. They were killed within a week of each other in late 1944 in France.
