Northwest Guilford head boys soccer coach Jason Allred virtually sat down with HighSchoolOT Triad reporter Zack Adams to look ahead to the 2021 boys soccer season. The Vikings ended 21-3-2 overall before losing to R.J. Reynolds in the 4A western regional final. NWG should be starting regular season play against Glenn on Tuesday, Jan. 25.

Here are the top first-round volleyball playoff games from around the state

Raleigh, N.C. The N.C. High School Athletic Association s winter volleyball postseason kicks off on Tuesday. Each bracket has 32 teams, down from 64 a year ago, and was sorted with a random draw between teams with equal seeds.
Those factors have led to some interesting first-round games that typically would be second-round or third-round games.
These are 15 to watch closely (online, for most of us) on Tuesday night.

Fun fact: both of these teams will be 4A next fall.
