The Western Cape Democratic Alliance (DA) said it was ‘fed up’ with the ‘incessant and seemingly unending killings’ throughout the province, but said the province lacked the resources to reduce crime.
Western Cape has recently been facing a spate of serious and violent crimes, with Minister of the Police Bheki Cele saying the province recorded over 100 murders within one week.
Mitchells Plain police are probing a double murder in Tafelsig and another one in Eastridge. The two incidents occurred within a matter of hours and in both cases, the victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
