The family of an Italian student who hanged himself at EF Academy has filed a new lawsuit against the Thornwood boarding school. The father of student Claudio Mandia accused two nurses of wrongdoing, in a complaint filed on Feb. 13 in Westchester Supreme Court, based on information learned in litigating a 2022 lawsuit.

Cannabis company sues Pound Ridge for blocking store

A cannabis company has sued the Town of Pound Ridge for enacting a moratorium to block a new store. Purple Plains, of Waccabuc, claims that the town passed a bad law, in a complaint filed Feb. 20 in Westchester Supreme Court, and it is asking for the moratorium to be  declared "null, void and jurisdictionally invalid."

Rye church seeks insurance backing in sexual abuse case

A Rye church that was accused of negligence for allegedly allowing a sexual predator to prey on children has sued an insurance company for failing to come to its assistance. Christ's Church charged Federal Insurance Co. with breach of contract, in a complaint filed on Feb. 12 in Westchester Supreme Court.

A long-time member of Imperial Yacht Club has sued the New Rochelle marina for allegedly holding his boat hostage. Paul A. Fino Jr. accused the club and owner-operators John A. Giacobbe Sr. and John A. Giacobbe Jr. of fraud in a complaint filed on Feb. 5 in Westchester Supreme Court.

BMW of Mt Kisco demands arbitration fees from ex-GM

BMW of Mt. Kisco is asking a court to confirm a $70,350 arbitration award against former General Manager Brian D. Barry who it claims engaged in deceitful conduct with the intention of damaging its reputation.
