Excitement was pulsing through the air inside the Fort Washington Armory Track in Manhattan, where hundreds of students from Jewish day schools nationwide gathered for a highly anticipated robotics competition on Tuesday, April 5. The event, a culmination of the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE)’s year-round robotics league, was co-hosted by Teach Coalition and welcomed nearly 100 robots from a total of 37 schools to participate in a variety of matches.
On February 16, Westchester Day School announced that Rabbi Dani Rockoff will be the new head of school, beginning July 2022. In a letter to the community, WDS stated, “This decision received unanimous support of the Head-of-School Search Committee, the professional leadership, the Board of Trustees and our esteemed local Rabbinical leaders.” Rabbi Rockoff currently serves as K-12 Judaic studies principal and school rabbi of the Denver Academy of Torah. “When I heard about the WDS opportunity, I was very excited,” he said. “My whole career has been devoted to Jewish communal work within education and the community rabbinate.
Westchester Day School recently hosted the book launch premiere and party for “The Hidden Saint” (Level Best Books), a new novel by Mark Levenson of White Plains.
