GRANBY A lifelong Granby resident who is a Massachusetts trial court security officer will be joining the Select Board, according to unofficial results from Town Clerk Katherine E. Kelly-Regan.
At Monday’s town election, Richard K. Beaulieu of Aldrich Street earned a three-year seat on the board by defeating former board member Stephen A. Chojnacki of Taylor Street, 374-205.
Beaulieu, a member of the Personnel Board and Zoning Board of Appeals, wrote in a campaign statement on Facebook that his interest in serving includes filling anticipated job openings, including the police and fire chief positions, and reviewing the West Street School to determine whether it should be torn down or instead rehabilitated for Town Hall or Senior Center space.
