A child is in stable condition Saturday at Riley Hospital for Children after being shot overnight in a southwest side home.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the house in the 5800 block of Granner Drive, near South Mooresville Road and West Southport Road, around 3 a.m.
The child was inside the house when someone fired shots into it, IMPD spokesperson Genae Cook said. When officers arrived on the scene, the child was awake and breathing.
Police did not release the child s age.

UPDATE: Police around 9:30 p.m. said Sara Marie Spurr was located and was safe.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Indianapolis police detectives are seeking help to find a missing 39-year-old woman.
Sara Marie Spurr was last seen Thursday in the 6700 block of Cordova Drive. That’s a residential area northeast of the intersection of West Southport Road and South Mooresville Road on the city’s southwest side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department describe Spurr as 6 feet and 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark gray, zip-up jacket; black sweatpants; and greyish blue Sperry shoes. She also has tattoos on her right arm and her right leg.
