Counterprotests. Theres been a Large Police Presence here. They have been here all day made up of ucberkeley police, police from other uc campuses, and city Police Officers. They have been walking in large groups of about 6 or 7 or 8. Now they are kind of dispersed in different spaces. Some groups opposed to the shapiro appearance scrawled messages on sidewalks and signs around campus. Others have said the barriers, closed sections of campus, clusters of police [ pause ] have militarized the campus. I spoke to a manager of the warehouse, the building here at the Salvation Army. He says they believe maybe it was somebody trying to breakthrough the trailer to go through the donations and far source of lighting might have used a candle. This has been an ongoing issue. That might have happened last night. This fire started around 2 00 this morning. When the Fire Department got out here, they raised it to a second alarm. It took an hour to get it put out. It was around 3 00, then fully contained around 4 00. You can see whats left of the trailer. The trailer is not destroyed. You can see charring up the backside. Fortunately, the fire never extended inside the warehouse. One of the sprinklers did its job. There was damage on the inside. The inside of the building did not catch fire. It was the extension.
