Christmas Day on Friday is a federal and state holiday, so government offices are closed. But that s not necessarily the case Thursday. Peoria city offices will operate during regular hours until 5 p.m. but the offices themselves remain physically closed because of COVID-19 precautions. There is no mail delivery, and banks are closed Friday. Some of the latter may run limited hours Thursday.
Trash pickup won t be provided Friday. State offices also are closed Friday. All area schools are on holiday break.
