Teenage Girl Stabbed to Death in New York

The mayor of Syracuse has said that children and families are in crisis in his upstate New York community following the killing of a second teenager in the city within days.
The comments by Ben Walsh follow the fatal stabbing of a 13-year-old girl which comes on the heels of the shooting of a 15-year-old boy by a teenage suspect on Friday.
In the latest incident, Syracuse police said officers had responded to a call at the 1200 block of West Onondaga Street at around 6 p.m. on Monday.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) A 13-year-old girl was fatally stabbed following a “disturbance” in Syracuse, police said.
The stabbing was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Monday on West Onondaga Street, Syracuse police said. Detective George Hack said in a statement that the teen was stabbed during a “physical disturbance. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police have made no arrests.
The girl, who was not identified by police, was the second teenage homicide victim in Syracuse in three days. Police said Radames Francisco, 15, was fatally shot on Friday by a 14-year-old boy.

A 13-year-old girl is the latest homicide victim in the city of Syracuse following a stabbing Monday evening.
According to Syracuse Police, officers were called to the 1200 block of West Onondaga Street just before 6 p.m.
Investigators said the victim was stabbed during some sort of physical disturbance. She later died at the hospital.
