Jolene Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ray of Lignoier has been selected as representative to Girls State this summer. Ray is a junior at West Noble High School. Vicki Gerke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gerke of Ligonier as been selected as alternate to Girls State.
A Central Noble High School teacher has been appointed the field representative for the Miss Northeast Indiana Scholarship Pageant Association. Mrs. Carole Wolfe, who resides in Wolf Lake, said, âI am delighted to be associated with this dedicated group of people who are bringing outstanding scholarship opportunities to deserving girls of Noble County.â
The members of Theatre33, the drama club at West Noble High School, have remained engaged in the performing arts even though the pandemic put a damper on live productions. Members
LIGONIER â West Noble High School student Emily Clouse is the Indiana state archery champion in recurve bare bow for high school girls. Clouse will advance to national competition in July.
In state competition, Clouse set the state record in Indiana Field Archery Association (IFAA) American Round. She placed first in IFAA Outdoor Field State and set a state record in all three categories of outdoor, hunter and animal. She placed first in Indiana Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) Indoor State, Indiana S3DA 3D State and IFAA 3D State, and third in IFAA Indoor State.
Nationally in 2020, Clouse placed fifth in S3DA National Indoor 2020 and third in S3DA 3D National 2020.
LIGONIER — As far as the official numbers go, West Noble School Corp. made it through the first half of the 2020-21 with relatively few cases of COVID-19.

Abigail Adamson of Angola, a sophomore at Earlham College, Richmond, watched the recently released documentary The Social Dilemma on the last day of her introduction to social media class this fall. Our teacher would ask for our opinions, said Abigail, 20. She said discussion revolved around how social media changed students lifestyles, how it played into the presidential election and how it incorporated affect theory. Affect theory attempts to categorize humans emotions to predict how they will respond when triggered. We discussed how much misinformation gets spread so quickly, Abigail said.
