UPDATE 6.30PM: Two people have been taken to Mackay Base Hospital in stable conditions following an earlier crash in West Mackay.
INITIAL 5.45PM: Emergency services have been called to reports of a head-on crash in West Mackay.
Witnesses reported the crash involving two cars occurred at the intersection of Donaldson and MacKenzie Streets about 5.40pm.
Emergency services are en route to the scene.

Subscriber only Traffic delays are expected in Paget and West Mackay after two separate crashes on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were on scene at a two-car crash at the intersection of Archibald St and Maggiolo Dr, Paget about 3.40pm. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said two crews were on scene assessing five people who were in stable conditions. All five are expected to be taken to hospital. It is understood the crash has left one lane completely blocked to traffic, with police on scene. Police were also called to conduct traffic control after a two-car crash reported at the intersection of Lagoon St and Nebo Rd, West Mackay just before 4pm.

A four-car pile up on a major West Mackay road has caused traffic chaos for motorists during the peak hour rush.
Police were called to the scene on Nebo Rd, outside the Coral Cay Resort, just before 9am.
No injuries were reported.
A Queensland Police spokesman said one vehicle in the right lane was blocking northbound traffic about 9.10am.
