90 rental homes approved for King Edward Avenue and Cambie Street corner

It came down to a 7-2 vote, with NPA councillor Colleen Hardwick and COPE councillor Jean Swanson in opposition, Green Party councillor Pete Fry abstaining, and independent councillor Rebecca Bligh absent. Pennyfarthing Development’s initial proposal in 2018 containing 66 condominium homes was approved by city council in March 2019, but those plans were cancelled soon after, and a revised application with 100% rental housing tenure with 90 units was submitted in August 2020.
